Bachelorette Getaway

We’re closing out another Breast Cancer Awareness month and we just love the pink-splosion we saw everywhere so we though you’d appreciate this pink themed inspiration board for our bachelorette getaway suggestions!

Are you looking for ideas for a great bachelorette weekend getaway with the girls?  Well, look no further! Here is a short list to get your planning started.

Las Vegas, Nevada is the most popular destination for a bachelorette party. You can enjoy the spa, great shows, fabulous restaurants, a little gambling (if you’re so inclined), or just party the night away on the Vegas strip.

Miami Beach, Florida has some of the hottest night clubs (and temperatures, so check out those trends before you get your flights) like LIV, white sandy beaches, and the most interesting drink menus.  If you’re looking for a great cuban restaurant to visit while you’re in Miami, be sure to visit Versaille Restaurant.

New York, New York is known best for exceptional shows, shopping, and extravagant restaurants. No wonder the Big Apple is called “the city that never sleeps” – you need time to fit it all into your schedule! For a great shopping experience, visit 25 Park, and check out Minus 5 Bar for an interesting night out.

New Orleans, Louisiana is perfect if you’re looking for a more music centered weekend. With the very best Cajun cuisine and jazz musicians in the country, what’s not to love with this spicy city? Visit the Palace Cafe for some of their infamous cajun cuisine, and if you plan to have a splurge night, Commander’s Palace is a New Orleans institution! And, we can’t not mention Cafe Du Monde…you simply must enjoy a cafe au lait and a beignet (or three) before heading home.

Orlando, Florida is filled with theme parks if you’re looking for more of a thrill on your bachelorette weekend with both Disney World and Universal Studios.  Make sure you visit the rooftop bar Sky Sixty for a great girl’s night out on the town!

Napa Valley, California is a great spot to indulge in delicious wine and food, hot air balloon rides, and spa treatments.  This is the perfect choice if you are looking for more of a relaxing and wine inspired weekend.  Click here for more information on balloon rides, and check out the Hess Collection Winery – one of the MANY wine tour options in the area.

Scottsdale, Arizona is known for its great spa treatments, outdoor activities, and luxury resorts. This is a great spot for a “zen” weekend of relaxation and getting closer to Mother Nature.  Check out these two fabulous resorts – Kierland Resort and The Hermosa Inn.

If you’re looking for a more southern charm bachelorette weekend then stop by Charleston, South Carolina.  Charleston has the most gorgeous boutique hotels, beach houses, southern style nightlife, and southern cuisine.

Looking to get out of the states for a fun trip?  Try visiting Cabo San Lucas, Mexico it’s great for a little fun in the sun at the beach or enjoying the wild nightlife at the Cabo Blue Bar.  Make sure you take a look at this great ocean front resort the Pueblo Bonito when booking your trip.

Of course, we can’t forget our hometown of Savannah, Georgia!  Savannah is full of things to do and if you are interested in fun ghost stories and drinks then the Creepy Crawl haunted pub tour is for you. As far as where to stay, a bed and breakfast is your best bet – not only do you get to enjoy the charming architecture of the city, but you have the opportunity to experience our warm southern hospitality. We’re not called “The Hostess City” for nothing!!

There are so many great locations to visit for a fun bachelorette weekend.  Whatever location you choose make sure it’s ideal for you and your bridesmaids and most importantly a place to have fun!

Food Trend Friday: Lights, Camera, Action!

Curious how to make your reception more of a food production?  We can help with relatively easy ways to enhance your event by jazzing up some foods you often see at weddings or other special events.  If your city doesn’t have any local food trucks like we mentioned last week, try these to get you started.

Serve up fresh oysters with a chef shucking them to order for your guests – a bit more exciting than just serving them on ice.  Oysters aren’t for everyone, but if Mexican flavors are more your style, setup a guacamole station with different types of ingredients to give this side dish a makeover as a focal point.  Why not invite a local sommelier or wine shop owner to give your guests a private wine tasting at your cocktail reception?  You can provide your guests their own tasting notebook with flavor notes for the different wines. Then, have them leave a note in your tasting book with their favorites along with warm wishes, and voila – instant guest book!  Another fall wedding favorite is a coffee, hot chocolate, and smore’s station, complete with all of the trimmings like marshmallows, flavors, and options for making an “adult” version of these warm drinks (bring on the Bailey’s and Jameson, please!). Make the station extra cozy by providing guests with a lounge area for an authentic campfire feel – without the stinky clothes, though!

Regardless what you do, your food and drinks will play a big role in your reception…why not give it an extra boost?!?

Let’s Get Crafty!

What could be more satisfying than making your own party favors and gifts for your guests?  There are tons of fun and creative ideas you can implement to show your guests how grateful you are to have them by your side on your big day.  Food favors are incredibly popular and easy to personalize.  You can create anything from local marinated cheese, cupcakes in a jar, homemade pies, candy bags, to an apple roasting kit, which is ideal for a fall wedding.  If you’re feeling crafty there are plenty of fun and cute ways to impress your guests.  Make your own wedding crackers which can double as escort cards, custom matchbooks, pinwheels, coasters, or (for the food lovers) a personalized recipe book.  The sky’s the limit so roll up your sleeves and get crafty!

Food Trend Friday: Food Truck Fun

Looking for a food idea off the beaten path?  Have a food truck at your reception! Food trucks are a fun and interesting twist to the buffet style wedding reception.  The best part about having a food truck at your wedding is you get to serve your favorite late night meals.  Tacos, burgers, hotdogs, pizza, and ice cream are a few of the most popular food truck choices.  The food truck option does not have to be your main source of food but it will definitely be the highlight of the reception with your guests.
